Blue-Printing
I thought I’d take a moment to discuss “Blue-Printing” and success. Specifically, I have a few friends who are gearing up for the journey called Ironman. Having just completed the year and moving on to expand on my success, I think I am in a position of authority to discuss and share things that worked for me for the benefit of others. My best results in life have been from ideas borrowed and customized to my personality.
As most know, I consider myself very much a student and love to study successful people, behaviors, etc. The curios common denominator I’ve found, it all starts with your belief system. By that I mean, you may not be an Ironman now, a millionaire or where you would like to be in life currently, but it all has to start somewhere. If you are not capable of visualization or believing you are capable of achieving the stated result, I would argue you have very little chance of achieving your dream.
The other critical aspect, Blue-Printing. Have you ever heard of someone building a house without a blue-print or plan? Not likely and if possible, I would speculate that there would be very expensive outcomes and undesired results. Well, when it comes to an Ironman year, life success and any other long- range goal, you need an accurate blue-print down to the day as to how that is going happen. Here at our firm Proactive Wealth (www.prwealth.com), we start by working back-wards with the stated goal for the whole year and reduce it down to fine detail to the day with what we call our “6 Most”. Those are the six most critical tasks we need to complete prior to leaving the office. We also have themes for the week. Tie them all in together and you have a blue-print, paradigm (plan) and a measurable, specific result and very much opposite of chance. I digress; one of my favorite quotes, the definition of insanity is replicating the same action over and over expecting a different result. I just think that says it all.
Working with Jess Kropelnicki and his company www.Q2tsystems.com, the exact same process is followed for Ironman. There is no question why I like working with him, because his philosophy and results for success are universal. Start with a vision, believe you can do it, create a high overview of what that looks like and then take it down to the day to day execution.
In closing, I think it’s important to point out that frequent assessments and “checks” on the above are important. Often every 6 months I’ll go back and revaluate and asses my current situation and make the necessary changes. It’s a fine balance of implementing vs. micro-managing.
Happy Training and go deep in all that life offers!
